When documents are recorded in our office, indexing information is recorded along with the document - such as relevant names and addresses.

You can request to be notified when a document is indexed using your name and/or your address.

Once you receive an alert, you should contact our office for more information at (423) 209-6560 or at Register@HamiltonTN.gov

Your registration and use of the Hamilton County Register of Deeds Property Alert System is strictly on a voluntary “opt in” system. Meaning that you or someone on your behalf, must add your information to the system. If you decide that you no longer wish to participate in the system, or sell the subject real estate, you can “opt out” of the system.
All records in the Hamilton County Register of Deeds Office, (hereafter referred to as Register’s Office) are public information as set forth in T.C.A. 10-7-503, including information in this system. The only exception being Military DD214’s.
The Register’s Office does not prepare documents or edit, and does not have the qualifications necessary to give legal advice. Nothing in this communication shall be construed or understood as legal advice. All legal questions should be directed to a title company or attorney’s office. All information contained in our records system were submitted for recordation by an outside party, and may or may not be accurate. Additionally the Register’s Office does not perform title searches. Therefore, neither Hamilton County Government nor the Register’s Office represent or endorse the accuracy or reliability of any of the information contained in the system.
This Alert System IS NOT retroactive. You will only be notified of documents recorded in your name / property, made AFTER you register in the Alert System.

If your name has any alternate spellings, you will need to submit a new notification request for each version.

TIPS:
Enter your name as it would appear on a legal document.
- If your name has a suffix, enter Jr, Sr, III, IV, etc at the end of the middle name field.
- A personal name and business name must be signed up for separately, not together.
- If you include your middle name, you will only get alerts for documents filed that include your middle name. Ex: 'John Doe Smith' will not get an alert for 'John Smith'.
- If you do not include your middle name, you will get alerts for documents including any middle name. Ex: 'John Smith' will get an alert for 'John Doe Smith'.
